Before installing your gabion wall, make sure the ground is level and compact. Excavate the area, then add sand or small gravel to create a stable base. Place your gabions and fill them with your chosen stones. Secure the structure with hog rings and the appropriate pliers.
Outdoor structures must comply with local regulations. In cities with over 50,000 residents, gabion walls must be higher than 10.5 feet (3.20 m). In smaller towns, the minimum height is 8.5 feet (2.60 m).
