How to Maintain Your Aluminum Gate

Maintenance is simple—aluminum requires very little care. If you notice spots or dirt, just clean with a soft sponge, warm water, and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners and do not use high-pressure washers, as these can cause water to seep inside. Once a year, lubricate the lock and hinges, and check for any worn parts that may need replacing.

How to Install an Aluminum Gate

Start by positioning the hinge on the first post and mark its location with a spacer. Mark the screw holes, fasten with the spacer in place, and insert the washer into the axis. Place your gate on spacers and keep it level. Secure the top hinge to the gate frame and mark its position. Remove the gate, screw in the top hinge, but don't fully tighten so you can adjust later. Use a level to check alignment, then tighten if everything is straight. Attach the handle. Position the strike plate opposite the lock, center it on the wall, mark the holes, drill, and screw it in place. Install the hinge cover and check that everything operates smoothly.
